Governance Committee
ROLE
The role of the Governance Committee is to ensure the integrity of the ONA, both in its research process and in its operation, to ensure the proper management of public funds and to ensure accountability. . He also ensures that ONA’s research programming enables the achievement of ONA’s mandate and objectives.
The Governance Committee approves:
- ONA scientific programming: Research directions, implementation schedule
- Annual work plans and budgets
- Activity reports and annual financial reports
- Granting of research funds
The governance committee meets three (3) times a year. He makes his decisions by consensus.
COMPOSITION
In the interest of sound governance, the governance committee is made up of key stakeholders in the process:
- The general director of Cégep de Thetford
- The Director General of Science and Partnerships of the MEIE (responsible for Measure 5 of the Action Plan 2022-2025 – “Asbestos and asbestos mining residues in Quebec: towards the transformation of a liability into a sustainable asset”)
- The scientific director of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS)
- The scientific director of the Quebec Research Fund – Nature and Technology (FRQNT)
The governance committee counts on a person delegated by the Ministère de l'Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP) and on a person delegated by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS ), to act as an observer.
