The NAO Scientific Advisory Committee visits the MRC des Sources and des Appalaches

After several months of consultation and consultation work, the NAO received a visit from its Scientific Advisory Committee. This committee is made up of renowned researchers from a multitude of research environments. These experts in their respective fields of research guided, informed and advised the NAO throughout the development of its first research program. With their visit, these scientists came to understand the realities and research issues of the asbestos regions of southern Quebec.

So that the committee is able to immerse itself in regional realities, the NAO welcomed scientific experts to the regions of Thetford Mines and Val-des-Sources. The committee met members of the Cégep de Thetford research community and was able to become aware of the vitality of research within the establishment and its positioning in the research ecosystem in Quebec. The committee also met with representatives from municipal and industrial circles in order to understand the economic and social realities of the asbestos regions of southern Quebec.

A working meeting also took place to encourage the sharing of ideas for the development of research projects aimed at achieving the NAO’s objectives.
